A part of the LIFEPAC 1st Grade Language Arts curriculum from Alpha Omega Publications, the Reading Basics Study Guide is an essential teaching resource for parents in the utilization of the popular series in the Reading Basics set of five readers. Written especially for parents who are not using the complete LIFEPAC Language Arts program, this study guide is filled with useful features.

The study guide begins by presenting the various components of effective beginning reading instruction, including phonemic awareness and phonics. Suggestions for successful implementation of a literacy program also are included with a focus on inferencing, identifying important information, monitoring, summarizing, and question generating. In addition, you will find detailed instructions for teaching the stories in each of the five readers, including instructions in application of the five strategies. Comprehension questions for the entire series are also included.
